Hello. We're Tourient: an online platform that helps small organizations create self-guided audio tours. This page will explain what we care about.
We're straightforward. We thought, what if we don't fuck over the customer? No secret pricing. No pushy sales calls paired with presentations that put you to sleep.
We build tour guide software that works well, at an approachable price point, and aren't interested in being billionaires.
At least five humans thought about how Tourient looks and works, and we've spent years building and improving it. Some of our best features originated as ideas from our customers that we ran with.
Our customer support is human-based. No chatbots or AI phone answering services.
We include select LLM-based tools with the platform, if we can justify their use, like machine translations and text to speech.
But if you're expecting AI to build your tour for you, go somewhere else. We'd gladly recommend another company that better fits your disregard for human work.
We're not a multi-national conglomerate. We're not swallowing our competition, because we don't think we have any competition. We're doing our own thing.
Off the top, we take $5 from every monthly subscription to plant trees in Colorado and Washington state. This helps offset the carbon our business generates (and that which we each generate personally).
About half of a monthly subscription goes directly to infrastructure bills. Hosting, software our software runs on, LLM tools, internal tools, internet, electricity, etc.
The rest covers the labor of support and building new features you ask for.
While we're not yet profitable (self funding ain't cheap), we have plans.
We'd like to see museums offer paid internships, instead of running on unpaid labor. If we have to fund this ourselves at a specific museum through corporate sponsorship, we will. All work is important and skilled and worthy of a thriving wage.
We'd like to be able to fund free usage of Tourient for select organizations, in a similar manner to Bloomberg Connects.
