The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is a data privacy law that took effect in the European Union in May 2018. The GDPR establishes strict guidelines for how organizations collect, process, store, and protect personal data of EU residents. Tourient is fully GDPR compliant.
If you're in the EU, we'll host your data on servers in the EU by default, whether you ask us to or not. If you're not in the EU, you can choose to have your data hosted in a region of your choosing.
We don't collect any personal data or personally identifiable information (PII). We don't track users across their devices and across websites and apps that they visit, so you won't see retargeting ads on another website.
We don't use cookies, so there's no cookie banners or cookie consent forms needed. There is no way to know whether the same person visits our site from multiple devices or visits another website.
Before taking an action, we ask for the user's consent. For instance, rather than redirecting a visitor to a specific URL after completing a tour, we instead present a button that invites them to visit that URL. This complies with both GDPR and PECR.
Use our built-in data import tools to migrate your existing tours to Tourient from Cuseum, CultureConnect, STQRY, WalkieTalkie, and others. We support a CSV template, or can help you handle it.
And our data export tools make leaving Tourient easy. Migrate your tours, app pages, and sponsors from Tourient to any other platform. Choose from XLSX, XLS, CSV, TSV, ODS, and HTML files. You can also export your media folder in just a few clicks.
As a privacy-focused self-guided tours app, we believe in a right to erasure. When you leave Tourient, by canceling your subscription, your data is immediately removed from our servers and cannot be recovered.
